December 22nd, 2019

Yesterday we had about 15 groups of fishermen out.  By most reports the bite was a little slower when I talked to fishermen on the ice midday.  Last evening when most left I did not get reports from them. Some angler’s  that did let me know had 4 to as many as 7 Walleyes each for the day but most were under the slot.  a few 24-26″ Walleyes were C/R.   But overall it was slower than it had been the day before.

Spent alot of time checking ice farther out and marking where the roads will be,  As you get out a little father the snow depths drop and ice depths are more consistent which is good.  The next couple days the snow should settle a little more too which will help the freezing process when the cold comes back. I also spent time packing snow/slush spots with the Bombi so we can cross the areas where the cracks flooded the ice.

Until we get more ice, we will remain snowmobile, ATV’s with tracks or chains, walking and portables.  We have plenty of room for parking of rigs with trailers or “wheelhouse campers”.  We will not be pulling houses or letting any small wheelhouses with ATV’s out until colder weather returns and we start making ice.  So we wait and prepare for when it happens,,

Merry Christmas!!         Eddy
