Merry Christmas Everyone!  Hoping all reading this had a good Christmas and are looking forward to a great New Year ahead! Our family did not celebrate Christmas yet as we could not all get together so we will have our’s later.

With the ice conditions and warm weather things didn’t seem too “Christmas like” out there.  With the ice depths ranging from as little 7″ to as much as 14″  (the thicker ice being layered slush ice)  we are just on the edge.  This warm weather is softening  the ice instead of making it.  The good news is that the snow that is out there is settling.  I was out with the Land Cruiser plowing and widening what roads I had already established yesterday until about 4:00 pm.  But did not start any new ones.  I was by myself out there yesterday, and will be today and will not take the chance on a new roads without someone watching.

No one was out fishing yesterday and so far today.  I presume we won’t see much activity until tomorrow with the Holiday.  There is starting to be talk about a snowstorm Saturday/Sunday with some colder weather behind that.  Depending on what happens with the amounts of snow this weekend will determine what I will be doing as far as pulling houses this next week.  Lets all hope that it either stays warm enough to rain/drizzle or takes a different path.

We will be open tomorrow for ATV’s,(with chains), snowmobiles and walkers with portables thru the weekend.  We will have room for wheelhouse parking and rigs with trailers. Nothing weighing over 2000 lbs will be allowed on the ice thru the weekend. With this warmer weather the top “slush ice” layer is weakening as the temps stay above freezing and I’m not taking the chance of someone getting in trouble.

Keep a Tight Line and be Safe out there!
