The rain we received Saturday evening and Sunday really got things wet out there on the lake.  We closed our access yesterday and will leave it closed until Wednesday after the snow and wind that is forecast for the next couple days.  They predict 1-3 inches and 30 mph NW winds.

In a way the rain is probably the best thing to happen for the ice at this time. It really settled the snow and got it wet so what is out there won’t be drifting. And when the cold weather arrives it will help the freezing process.

It’s been a long time since we haven’t had any houses on the ice for the New Year’s Eve, but it has happened before.  This year its just frustrating as the bite is so good and the rentals would be busy, and the checkbook is getting smaller.  Hopefully the end of this week and next we will get going after we have some colder weather.

Keep a Tight Line!!
