December 31st, 2020

Yesterday the bite was slower than the day before the snow.  The NW wind started after daylight, the barometer started up and the fishing slowed.  Angler’s all had activity, but not as much as earlier.  But I did see a few in the slot which was nice to see.  But not many texted me their reports.

I waited to see if the wind would pickup and drift, but by noon I got out and started clearing roads.  Today I will be doing more of that, hopefully opening up some new where we have already staked farther out and pull some of the smaller rentals  for the weekend.  With the new snow out there I would say there is about 6″ on the level and drifts up to 12″-16″.  It is definitely going to slow down the ice making process for awhile except for where I make roads, (which will be good).

We will not be letting vehicle traffic out for this weekend,  It will be ATV’s, (tracks highly recommended), snowmobiles or side by sides, (tracks recommended).  ATV’s or side by sides (with chains) with SMALL wheelhouses, (under 16 feet).  We will have lots of parking in our lot for wheelhouse camping if you would like for same cost as access fee.    All rental will need an ATV or Sled to have with them when they are in the rental on the ice. We will help shuttle gear, etc to and from. (Clarification – If you are renting you do not need chains or tracks on an ATV as we do have roads and driveways to the rentals.  If you are portabling off the roads, tracked vehicles would e to  your advantage.)

It sounds like no snow in the forecast for some time, so maybe we can get things going if we can get some cold weather.   Happy New Year!

(I apologize for posting later this morning, usually try to do it before 6:00 am but internet was  not cooperating…)

Keep a Tight Line!        Eddy
