Anglers that were out yesterday had mixed reports.  Everyone seemed to have action with Walleye and Perch.  Some over the slot C/R walleye pictures were sent in.  One angler had a battle with a big Pike or Muskie out north of Spider Island and lost.  (But still had to be fun.)

Yesterday I started a road to the SE corner of the Graveyard with the Land Cruiser and a modified V-plow cut down to get thru it. I was not going to take one of the bigger trucks out as most of the ice underneath the 8-18″ of snow measured under 12″.  By the time I was pushing the last windrow over the majority of the 30′ wide road had alot of cracks and water was seeping so I left it to heal. And will continue widening it today.  Right now we have the average amount of snow cover on the ice as we would usually have at the end of a season when we would have 24″-30″ of ice.  Only having 11″-15″ of ice, (Areas where it has cracked, flooded and froze under the snow and the ice is where the 15″ ice is) is the problem.

Overnight numerous cracks showed on the established roads as expected so we are limiting traffic to ATV’s, SxS’s , and snowmobiles for the rest of the weekend. With possible snow coming Tuesday and Wednesday I will be working on roads and will making decisions about the future pulling of houses after we see what we get for snow.

Keep a Tight Line!
