Yesterday I moved some rentals that didn’t do so well last weekend to new spots. Cleaned up roads an got things ready for the weekend.
The Walleye bite was pretty slow, but not many out there fishing too. One angler had C/R 7 Walleyes from 19″ to 25″ and got one “keeper” in a 36 hour period, so it was not fast and furious, but some good fishing nonetheless. Overnight those out there according to reports did pretty well with one angler catching 12 Walleyes, some Perch and 3 Eelpout.
I am getting more frustrated with the State of Minnesota and their bending over backwards to the Bands just because they give the politicians money down there in St. Paul. It is becoming more obvious all the time. Especially after this last safe harvest quota announcement when the DNR biologists of go to the FTC meetings, (meetings between the Tribal biologists and DNR). The DNR went to them with a different and considerably higher amount for safe harvest from what I heard and came out again with what the Tribes wanted. (In my opinion the Tribes do not want Minnesota’s Anglers to have any amount and want us gone.) There is something going on. I really want to know if the State of Minnesota has ultimate control of it’s resources. After all there a 5 million citizens of the State of Minnesota and approx. 50,000 Band members. Looks to me like St. Paul and Governor Walz is going where the money is and forgetting about us. But what do you expect when you live in the land of “Rocks and Cows” according to our Governor. His “One Minnesota” was just a campaign slogan, not reality. It’s about time anglers and citizens of outstate Minnesota wake up!!
Keep a Tight Line! Eddy
