I missed yesterday’s report as I attended a funeral for a cousin of mine. Hearing the reports from angler’s leaving today it was a slow bite for most. But the beautiful weather out there yesterday afternoon made up for it. People were out of their houses and sitting in the sun enjoying it. With the high barometer the sky was clear and sunny and the fish were not cooperating much at all and not too many seemed to care.
With the drastic temp swings from warm to cold and warm again the ice was very unpredictable with how it was reacting to weight traveling on it the last few days. Two days before before the weekend decided to shut down our road out to the gravel. The clear solid ice out there even though it was 16-18 inches thick would have not stood up to the traffic as some places found out over the weekend. Even in closer on roads that had been run on and established for some time has banks dropping more than usual. With all the weight of the existing snow on the ice out there where you uncover it, it is going to do something, and this weekend it did….
The weather will be changing again this week and winter will be returning for the rest of the month so let’s hope we have a good finish to the season.
Keep a Tight Line!
