Mille Lacs Ice Fishing Report – Conditions & Updates

February 13th, 2026

The ice conditions are holding up well, with temperatures above freezing for only a few hours in the afternoon and freezing overnight.  There might be a little melting in the afternoons on the south sides of houses from the sun, but with 30″ of ice, there will be no issues.

Shallow water has more slot Walleye being caught than deep water, but not in large numbers. In the close basins, some nice Northern Pike have been caught and released the last couple of days, too.  What a lot of fishermen forget when they are in shallow water for Walleyes with a wheelhouse is that noise inside, light, and noise outside the house (generators, etc) can greatly affect whether or not you’re going to catch anything.  With a lack of snow and extreme water clarity, it all makes a difference. Also, pulling into an area where others are already set up during “prime time” is not cool and shows disrespect to the fishermen who are there.

Seasonal wheelhouse customers stored in our lot need to contact our office this weekend, as we will be moving stored houses to a specific area of our lot. If you don’t call or come up, I will be moving it one way or another. Starting Monday, we will begin pulling in some of the Permanent houses.

It will be a good weekend to sit on a bucket out there!
