The bite for the Walleye has been mostly at night for most anglers. Deeper rocks and shallow reefs both. Perch are active all day in most areas but you have to pick thru them to get the 10″plus keepers. Overall it has been a quiet week.
After watching and checking with 3 different weather sites and forecasts, there is a significant snowstorm coming this next week. Starting late Tuesday thru Thursday we could receive as much as 10″-13″ of snow and NW winds 35 mph plus. So basically it could be a blizzard out there.
For that reason starting Sunday we will be pulling houses and cutting our season one week short. ALL Permanents MUST be ready to pull starting this Sunday, Feb.19th. We are going to get as many off the ice as possible off before Tuesday. With the thinner ice conditions we have had this year, that much snow and accumulated drifts around houses would lead to some major flooding. After what we have went thru already this year we are not going to deal with that for just one weekend. So if it isn’t ready I suggest you get up here this weekend and get it ready as it will be coming off the ice Monday. I don’t control the weather, but I know the best way to deal with it after all the years out there and that is what we are going to do. We will be calling all rental customers and informing them of the situation also.
Seasonal wheelhouses will need to get up here this weekend and move their house to the NE side of storage lot if they are going to keep it here or otherwise call the season over and take it home. Those that are storing over summer will need to sign up for storage. If you don’t show up we will be moving it one way or another.
Call the office if you have questions.
Keep a Tight Line!
