February 18th, 2025

Our rentals went out overnight yesterday afternoon, and they had some good action.  After lunch, the bite picked up until dark. It was pretty quiet overnight, but the bite picked up again at daybreak. I think that with the weather warming up for the weekend, it will improve even more.  After seeing some of the Perch caught this past weekend, I noticed that larger ones are also moving into shallow water. So I expect that to improve also.

We still have a few deluxe rentals available for the weekend. We are going to break up some into 24-hour periods instead of the standard 48-hour period, as we usually rent them on weekends.  So give us a call if you are interested. With the warm weather coming, spending the last weekend of the Walleye season on the ice will be fun.

Wheelhouses, seasonal and weekenders, should call to get on our list if they are coming so we get an idea of spots to plow if they would want one.  If not, and you want to go on your own, I recommend bringing your truck’s tire chains, as they will come in handy.  Permanent should get their houses ready to pull and clear up accts.  Seasonal wheelhouse customers who do not store for the summer must remove their houses from the storage lot by February 23rd. Those who want to stay through March for Perch and Northern Pike are more than welcome to stay, but they need to check with the office about where to park their house. We will need the storage lot area open for permanent house storage.

I plan on keeping the roads open for Perch, Tullibee, and Northern Pike fishermen through March until either the weather prohibits it or the lack of business doesn’t make it worth the expense.

Keep a Tight Line!
