Monday was a pretty good day for some that stayed over from the weekend out there. One wheelhouse customer mentioned on his way off that they started late Sunday eve and were still going at noon when he left as well as a couple others. With the warm temps quite a few portable fishermen showed up as well. One of my rentals caught and released a 42.5″ Northern, which is quite a feat thru a 10″ hole.
We cleaned up edges on main roads in prep for the strong NW winds coming today. By this afternoon it will not be too nice out there and you will want to stay put. With 25 mph winds gusting to maybe 40, it will be blowing stuff around for sure. Looking ahead for the weekend the weather looks like it will warm up and maybe a little snow, but so far not much mention of winds.
Our “weekend wheelhouse” reservation list starts today at 7:00 am. We do the list so we can plan ahead for finding good spots to plow open and keep things spread out so everyone has their space and not crowd others. Groups that want to be together are welcome, we just need to know so we can find an area they can be and not interfere with others that prefer peace and quiet. All weight restrictions are lifted for truck/wheelhouse combos, but all will be required to keep speeds on the ice under 10 mph. Our crew will be adamant about that and will be watching….
Keep a Tight Line!
