Those out overnight had a good Walleye bite, but most were under the slot from the reports. Perch activity was good for some and slow for others. Today so far many ATV portables are out working the deeper water areas as far out as the Gravel and we’ll see what their reports are later. With less activity and traffic out there the bite has been really good overall and it’s worth the trip.
Due to the weather with warm days and now cooler nights for the next couple evenings, there will be some cracks showing up in the mornings. With the ice depths and conditions in our areas we will be erring on the side of safety and going with ATV’s, SxS’s for portable fishermen. (Portable fishermen are encouraged to bring a small trailer to haul gear as we have no snow in the parking areas.) Small wheelhouses pulled only by ATV, or SXS’s. No trucks and wheelhouses. We have our basic rentals out and available, but encourage customers to have an ATV with them in case someone needs to get to shore in an emergency. We will shuttle gear and people in and out to rentals if needed.
It’s beginning to sound like we will have this kind of weather thru next week then finally turning cooler for the last week or so of the season. Go figure. 🙂
Keep a Tight Line!
