The ice is shaping up well with the colder weather. Road banks and existing snowdrifts need to be avoided because the water they collect has not yet frozen. Ice depth is approximately 30″, and access to the lake is in excellent condition.
The bite has been the same with small Walleye in deeper water and more of the slot Walleye biting in shallows in the late afternoon and evening hours. Perch can be found in the mud areas in 30-35′, and more “keeper” Perch are being found in the shallows along with Northern Pike.
All permanents will need to be ready to pull on Sunday. We will be pulling them off the ice starting Monday. Access will will remain open until March 1st, and if there is demand to make it worthwhile we will decide after that. Watch the report.
