Overnight, the shallow-water houses had pretty good action on “keeper” Walleye. Numerous reports came from them this morning during our morning checks with rentals. So overall, the bite has improved over the last weekend for some. Some anglers are also targeting Northern Pike in the shallow basins and having success. Perch activity occurs in both deep mud and shallow basins. The Perch in shallow water are small and have to be picked through for 10″ plus fish. A few exceptions on the very top of shallow reefs in 8-10 of water have been getting some nice-sized Perch.

Ice conditions are excellent, with 30″ of ice. Access to the lake is good. As long as fishermen do not attempt to cross established road banks and avoid existing old drifts, they can drive almost anywhere.

Permanents still out there will need to be ready to pull on Sunday when they leave and we will be pulled to the storage lot on Monday. We will be keeping the access open thru next weekend and rentals will be available for Perch, Northern Pike. in the appropriate areas.
