The wind picked up overnight and drifting started about daybreak. It is not going to be pretty out there tomorrow. Fortunately we pulled many houses off the lake earlier this week and yesterday so we have about 50 left.
I think fishermen that stayed overnight despite us going around to all that were out there with the forecast and my recommendation on paper ,(delivered to everyone out of our place), that they leave the ice Saturday evening, found out why I meant what I said. Many got stuck and we had to get them out. It took most of the morning to get all off. tomorrow when the wind lets up we are going to stage the rest of them on the roads and get them in the storage lot by Tuesday evening.
The Lybacks/TWP Tournament went well considering the bad weather to the south. A few contestants that were south of the Twin cities that didn’t make it still received their door prizes, and everyone had a good time.
The bite picked up over the evening and this morning as people were leaving. I did get quite a few pictures of nice sized C/R Walleye from customers, so in the end it wasn’t too bad of an weekend despite a slow start to it.
After we get the houses off I plan on keeping a road out to the Tullibee Hole and west to and towards Spider Island for Northern Pike. If this snowstorm after snowstorm patterns continues, I will probably close it down so keep watching the fishing report, to find out if we are still going at it.
Keep a Tight Line! Eddy
