Over night the bite was still good for the rentals that were out there. A variety of C/R Walleye were reported. Largest reported was almost 26″. Daytime action was good in the am, but haven’t heard from anglers about this afternoon as they are not in yet.
The almost 30 degree temperature swing overnight caught up with the ice this morning as some areas of the lake experienced some cracks from reports. We has a couple under an inch that didn’t affect us as I chose to keep everyone out of here on ATVS and SxS’s. No trucks with wheelhouses, etc. With this warmer weather during the day even small cracks don’t freeze well.
I will continue with that policy under the weather turns colder. Later this week rain is forecasted with some pretty warm temps so we will go day by day.
We will continue renting our 8 “basic” houses (pictures of them on website), shuttling gear for rental customers. They will need an ATV out there with them for emergency if needed. Portables will be ATV or SxS’s also. Small wheelhouses capable of being pulled by ATV or SxS’s can go also. All will have to check in at our office first so we can direct them to parking. The frost is going out in our normal parking area. We are going to continue to keep things light.
Keep a Tight Line!
