The bite has slowed the last 24-36 hours with the high pressure. and cold.  But this time of year weather can effect the bite. Over the years the later in the season it has always seemed to affect it more.

The cold weather has also caused the ice to shrink and our pressure ridge is now a crack that we have been repairing the last two days.  Each morning it has been opening up about 4-6 inches and we are packing it with snow to freeze up, and redoing the ramps.  I’m hoping that all will be healed up and we will be allowing wheelhouse traffic over it starting Thursday afternoon.  But the restriction on weight and size of vehicles will probably have to remain at up 3/4 ton truck and tandem houses. As of now, rigs with diesels or 1 tons will need to stay on the shore side of it. After a couple days of cold like we have had the ice usually calms down and it heals.  I’m expecting that to happen here, but you need to keep watching the report, or call if you are already on the wheelhouse list that morning before arrival to confirm the status of the ice roads.

Keep a Tight Line!!      Eddy
