Overnight and going into yesterday morning the bite picked up some for those out there. This weather pattern we’ve been stuck in hasn’t helped much. I seen pictures of C/R Walleye in the 5 lb range. Had reports of linebreaker Northern Pike. Along with the shallower Perch activity still going.
I established a road along what we call the Bank. and started on the Tullibee Road and East Spider Reef and will finish that today/ There is a couple stretches of slush on the Tullibee Road that will need to be packed down with the Bombi so it can freeze. Tomorrow we will start plowing spots for houses and pull as we go all thru the weekend and next week barring any problems. Some fishing areas just won’t be accessible for awhile yet and I am doing my best to get roads to some of the same spots I have in the past, but this year it’s more about safety out there.
Permanents going out will need to have the snow removed from their roofs before we pull them. There is a foot of hard compacted snow on each one of them and that adds too much extra weight out on the ice. If you want us to remove it there will be a $40.00 charge. Because of the amount of snow on the ice there will need to be a large area cleared to relieve the weight where the house will be put. It will also exposed the ice so it will thicken in the area around the house. There will be and extra $50.00 charge for that this year. Once you see how much snow is out there you’ll understand the reasoning behind it if you don’t already.
We are limiting traffic to fish houses with vehicles weighing under 6000 lbs. , Paid seasonal single axle wheelhouses with 1/2 tons. For portable traffic we are encouraging ATV’S and Snowmobiles to keep there vehicles off the roads as we are work on them everyday and do not want them in our way. We have plenty of parking for rigs on shore.
Be Safe
