Yesterday I did not receive many reports from anglers.  A 41″ Northern was caught near Spider Island. Some Walleye activity in shallower areas and on top of the deeper reefs.

We spent most of the day preparing for the weather coming in the next 24-36 hours. We are in a weather advisory. 1″-3″ of snow today, 2″-4″ overnight and NW winds on Friday gusting to 25mph.  So there will be drifting unless we get lucky and get some freezing rain on it.  With the ice we have all I know is we don’t need any more snow then what we have on it right now.

What’s going to happen here for the weekend: Vehicles that weigh under 7000 lb will be allowed. The ONLY wheelhouses that we will be going out of here this weekend will be our seasonal paid customers.  They will have to pull their houses with 1/2 or smaller trucks, (Preferably a lightweight truck, especially if a tandem wheelhouse) because of the ice conditions.  I will NOT be letting any others out until colder weather arrives and roads improve. I am obligated to our loyal customers that have permanent houses here and wheelhouses that store here and/or pay seasonal fees.  They will be first in line.   And there will be NO exceptions so don’t bother calling the office and questioning them.  Just read this report. I do this every morning.

When conditions improve, (which I’m hoping it will be next week)  We will start our weekend wheelhouse list on Tuesday like we did last year.  We limit the amount of wheelhouses here, started that last year and it was very well received. And this year we will be doing it again once the ice depths improve.

Keep a Tight Line!
