January 1st, 2024

Today the sun finally broke thru the clouds and we have a bright day. Temps are staying below freezing, 20’s for lows so the ice is holding it’s own, but not making much. Both the Modis and Earthview satellites pics were obstructed by clouds so i couldn’t get a pic of how much of the main lake was open.  Maybe tomorrow.

On Wednesday we will be walking out and rechecking the ice thickness to see if we will have enough ice  in the 100 yard wide stretch running east and west between Spider, Gull and Popes Point and to the east of there.  About three days ago alot of it was open water so we’ll find out if what cold weather we had has done anything.
