The bite was slow yesterday, but today it picked up some. A few “keepers” were caught, more small Walleye and Perch. A few pics of the last 36 hours:
We are in the process of relocating many of our rentals. mainly deeper edges from rock to mud, or rock to sand in 28-34 feet of water. The ones staying shallower have been good early morning and overnight spots, so they are staying. All will have new, fresh banking to ensure the holes will not freeze up with the cold weather and wind on Friday. By Saturday and Sunday, temps will moderate some, making the weekend more winter-like.
A word of warning for those renting our deluxe weekend houses. They only accommodate 4 people, and all are told so when they reserve. Last weekend, a group that had reserved was noted as having only four. They showed up, paid, and then, when taken to the house, a fifth person got out of their vehicle. My worker told them only four. The office called; we let it go so as not to create a hassle. Big mistake.. When they left, the house was trashed, they didn’t bother to change the toilet bags after use as directed, and apparently didn’t care how much wax worm sawdust they dumped on the carpet. IF ANYONE reserving one of my houses with more than it is designed to accommodate again, and we find out. they will be kicked out with no refund.
But other than, that things are good out there. Ice is getting thicker, pressure ridge is healing up and we are good to go for this weekend. and looking forward to it. 🙂
