Anglers out yesterday reported a slow bite. Mainly smaller Perch and Walleye. The slot Walleye and larger are well fed and healthy and when the timing is off they are hard to catch. Those that do work for them.  Just sitting with a set line doesn’t work some days.

We have received a lite dusting of snow the last couple days and will be getting some NW winds tonight, Another 1-2 inches possibly Thursday with strong S winds switching to NW winds gusting to 35 mph on Friday.  It doesn’t seem like much snow but with the winds it will be very much a whiteout on the ice so rentals arriving at noon for the weekend should check their driving plans, call our office Friday morning to verify conditions up here on the lake before leaving. It could be possible that you might not be able to be get into your rental at the specified time.  So calling ahead is important.

This also applies to  permanent and wheelhouse customers. Over the years of experiencing things like this I have learned it is much safer to wait until you can see what’s going on out there. Especially this year with ice conditions the way they are.   GPS mobility or not.  The last thing you want to do is drive into a flooded road bank accidentally after missing a road stake in whiteout conditions.

Keep a Tight Line!
