Yesterday, overnight fishing was what I call “spotty.” Most did not have too much for action, although the Small Perch and Walleye were hitting this morning. What pictures did I receive over the slot C/R Walleye? The majority were from 18 ft of water and less. Some fishermen were looking for Perch in the mud basins but didn’t find much for the bug hatches that draw them in. In years past, our bug hatches on the south end of the lake are usually later than those on the north end and in the mud flats. Our time will come later, I’m sure.
The WNW has picked up this afternoon, and there is some minor drifting from the snow we received yesterday. With the warmer temperatures, the drifts are soft, a nice change from last weekend. The guys will be out in the trucks checking driveways in the morning. Maybe this drifting will stop the wheelhouses that travel from other resorts and keep sending them to areas we have maintained for over 50 years. It shows a complete lack of respect for us and other fishermen.
