Mille Lacs Ice Fishing Report – Conditions & Updates

January 27th, 2026

Overnight Sunday and into Monday, the Walleye bite was pretty good for most out there. Perch and Tullibee action is picking up in the mud, and the stable weather pattern is showing its effects. With the full moon coming, it should be good.

We moved a bunch of rentals to new spots yesterday, where we’ve seen more action, and are going to move some more before the weekend. With the warmer weather approaching, there will be a lot of fishermen coming up for the weekend. We currently have 4 deluxe/4-person houses and 2 deluxe/2-person houses left for the weekend. Check the rental page and give us a call. With the Brainerd Jaycees Tournament this weekend, we usually get a lot of overnight rentals from contestants Saturday into Sunday.

Our wheelhouse reservation list starts today for our seasonal and weekend customers. Unlike other ice businesses, we limit the amount of wheelhouse out of our access on weekends. To ensure everyone has their “space” and prevent ice roads from breaking up due to excessive travel. We have approx. 30 seasonal wheelhouse customers get the first chance, so that means about 20 weekenders can sign up. We have had roads out into the Gravel Bars  NW of Hennepin Island, which is only a 3-mile run for us. The pressure ridge is freezing up well with this cold weather, and the warm-up coming Sunday/Monday should not affect it until after the weekend. Ice depths are 22″-24″ now.
