The bite continues with small Perch and Walleye in the last day or two. Very few bigger ones are being caught. They see them once in a while on underwater cameras, but they are not very active.  Some fishermen reported when they checked their rattle reel after not having a bite all night, they found a 5″ Walleye on it, and it didn’t even pull the wheel.   With small perch and walleye that small, it’s no wonder the larger walleye is a tough bite.  Bigger perch are moving into some gravel basins as they usually do towards the end of the season.

We moved 16 of our rentals the last two days into some late-season spots for the coming weekend, so we will see how they do.

I’ve been out on the lake the last few days with snow, blowing the drifts from permanent houses and blocking up those needing it. Despite the ice thickness and the weight of the drifts around the houses, in this warmer weather, they tend to flood. It’s good to get rid of the hard drifts for any future snow we might get out there before the season end.

Wheelhouses that are thinking of coming this weekend, don’t forget to call and get on the list.

Keep a Tight Line!
