Mille Lacs Ice Fishing Report – Conditions & Updates

January 2nd, 2025

The bite continued, mainly under the slot Walleye, with an occasional slot in the mix. Perch activity in the shallower water was busy but mostly small. With the full moon, the shallow-water bite should be pretty good if you’re in the “right spot” and quiet.

We are finishing up getting the permanents on the list out today; they will be called when they are ready.  1/2 tons and single-axle wheelhouses for the weekend, and if the area we are planning to cross the pressure ridge has frozen up some more, we will be getting things ready this afternoon. (If the ice is good enough)  I will post it when we do.

Some fishermen are beginning to talk about all the small Walleye getting C/R out in the deeper water; some said bladders were popping when brought up.  Use common sense and take it easy with them when pulling them in. Some that were catching them continuously actually pulled up and moved to a different spot to avoid them.
