The rentals out overnight had some pretty good fishing. Lots of action for a couple and a little slower for one house. Many C/R Walleye over and under the slot with some “keepers” too. The day bite was quiet for Perch and most caught were small.
The sun came out this afternoon and temps shot up. Unfortunately it will not be going under freezing at night for the next couple days and if it does it still won’t be enough to stop the process. We will continue going day by day and watching. All rentals customers need to call 24 hrs. before their reservation (starting tomorrow – 1/31/24) ) to confirm them with our office.
Tomorrow it will be ATV ‘s and SxS only for portables and access to rentals. We will shuttle gear for rentals if needed but they will need a wheeler with them. Small wheelhouses, (under 14 ft only) pulled and ATV’s only. And that’s about it.
Today I had to go to Brainerd for new glasses so I took the loop around the lake to and from there. Not many houses on the ice going up the east side and across the north end, but a few still out on the west and SW side. Make sure you contact the resort where you want to go out of as the week progresses. With temps this warm the next few days, conditions are going to change quickly. They can tell you what they are doing.
I talked to a long time friend and summertime neighbor today from Wapelo, Iowa. He told me as he was out walking his dog this morning he seen 4 flights of Geese go over headed north. Wonder if they know something we don’t? 🙂
Be Safe out there!
