Yesterday was spent getting what rentals we have out ready for the weekend, clearing roads from the last snow and looking for new areas that are flooded and froze so we can hopefully get permanents out for our customers. Even with the cold weather the last couple nights areas that have slushed out are not freezing. The new layer of 4-5 inches of fluff snow is insulating it from the cold. and with warmer weather coming is not going to help the situation.
Perch were active yesterday although mostly small. On the average there will be a 10″ plus Perch in about every 10 C/R from what I’ve been hearing this year. Walleye action yesterday was slow, but I’m waiting to hear the overnight reports. With the full moon some should have had some luck.
Until we get more ice we are only letting our seasonal paid wheelhouse customers out with 16ft or smaller houses and 1/2 or smaller trucks only. And only in areas I pick and plow for them. Portable traffic must have an ATV or Snowmobile. No vehicles on the lake and parking on the road to portable off it. We are minimizing the traffic out there for obvious reasons. We will keep our rental customers informed on changes, (if any) when they confirm their reservations for next weekend on Monday.
Be Safe!
