In the past 24 hours, fishing activity has slowed for most anglers. While many caught Walleye e under the slot, though some did land “keepers.” The best bites were occurring overnight in shallow water. Fishermen noticed the fish on their locators, but they were not very active. This is a pattern I’ve seen before when the weather was like it was the last couple of days, with fog and a steady low barometer.
With the current weather pattern and temperatures remaining relatively stable, we will start allowing traffic over the ramps on the pressure ridge. (Although with the sun coming out this afternoon, it will probably move.) This will open access to areas with established roads leading to the Tundra, Banana Reefs, and the Gravel Bars. Half-ton trucks with single-axle wheelhouses, as well as individual vehicles that are being transported, will be allowed to cross starting tomorrow. We plan to help pull permanent structures out to the Tundra and Banana Reefs over the next few days.
We still have some openings this weekend, so give us a call if you’re interested. With the temperature where they are, it will be a nice weekend to be out on the ice.
