The bite continues to be good, with larger Walleye mainly at night in deeper rocks and close to shallow reefs. Bigger Perch are starting to show up in the catch for some.

In checking the ice depths on our roads, they range from  19″-20″ in our first two miles, which include Pope’s, Ray’s, Graveyard, Banana, Gull, Spider Reefs, and the Knobs.  Going to our Gravel Bars, another 2 miles out, there is a consistent 17″ of ice.  The rough areas on the Gravel Bar road have been flooded and smoothed out.  Restrictions for wheelhouses this weekend will be only 1/2 tons and single axle wheelhouses to our Gravel Bars. In the first two miles, up to 21ft tandems and 3/4 ton trucks.  Call our office if you have other questions and to get on our wheelhouse list.  Even though the ice depths are increasing, it is essential for everyone with a wheelhouse to drive slowly on the roads because of the combined weight of their rig. Those who drive too fast only show disrespect for other fishermen and their safety on our roads.  5-8 mph should be your speed.

We are going to get some snow today and Sunday, which will be welcomed out there for banking and to cover the ice. We have rentals available for this weekend, so give us a call!
