It is getting a little closer to winter but you couldn’t really tell it by the temperatures we have had. From what I’ve heard the water temps are still in the low 50’s. Tullibees haven’t moved up on the reefs to spawn yet from what reports I’ve heard from the Musky fishermen. Last year by this time our wood pellet boiler had been running for almost a month, this year I haven’t even started it yet. There has been quite a bit of talk about a much milder winter this year. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
I’ve been busy the last month working on rentals, updating some with new carpet, new mattresses , install more solar panels on some. (mainly for lighting, charging phones and laptops.) Eventually I want to eliminate the LP gas lights in the houses, (except for one for emergency use). It also allows those that bring A/C generators for a CPAP, coffeemaker, etc. to shut if off once and awhile to keep things quieter out there during good fishing times.
Cindy has been taking a lot of reservations for the upcoming season already and the big question is “how early will be able to get out?” My suggestion is to make the reservation if you want to come mid to late December, and pick an alternate date in case the ice depths prohibit it.
Cindy’s Mother’s Memorial Service will be held this Saturday. She passed away two weeks ago at 89 years. It’s been a tough time for her and her family as losing a parent is always hard. keep her in your prayers.
