We are still busy getting things ready and making improvement to our rentals. Our deluxe houses are now all generator compatible, Customers will  need to provide their own generator and cord to plug into the house. There will be a power strip on each counter that they can plug whatever they bring  that needs A/C power.  We are still keeping solar panels and battery LED lights and are in the process of upgrading some of them with bigger panels, charge controllers with USB ports for charging phones.  If they work out well we will be upgrading all as the season continues, and we will be eliminating gas lights in the houses except for one for use in emergencies.   I wanted to have it so the renters can have options.

This Covid stuff and now a current lockdown for the next few weeks is potentially going to create problems with the rental business.  As I mentioned earlier we have a way to keep the houses disinfected and clean, but the concern is with the fishermen wanting to stay in close quarters for a weekend.  We have had some cancellations already, but most are still planning on coming so far.  As far as private houses and wheelhouse customers, they are all excited to “isolate” on the ice.

We still haven’t decided on a plan for greeting and checking in customers yet in our office, but I am working on one that we will finalize after Thanksgiving.  All I can say is this Covid thing sucks…  And I am Thankful we had a President  that was on top of the medical side of this last January when others were trying to impeach him…  if it wasn’t for his actions the vaccines and treatments would have been years away in the normal processes they had.  Now they will be starting to distribute in the next couple weeks.

Still open water yet. Some of the bays have had ice and lost it and now have it again, but it’s a long way away yet, by the looks of the weather reports.
