November 23rd, 2022

Today the temps were in the upper 30’s, low 40’s up here. Looking out on the main lake in front of us there was ice for about 2 miles but it was moving around and a lot of open spots. Looking at the Modis Satellite pics showed the main lake basically open. With the forecasted weather its going to be awhile.  The bays have ice and I’m sure a few will try walking out for the Thanksgiving tradition of going ice fishing, but with the above freezing temps it’s going to be risky for those that do.

Tomorrow will be a special day for the Lyback Family as we are going to have our Thanksgiving in our newly restored Barn that my Grandfather built 114 years ago. (Where the new office/bathrooms/showers and lounge will be.)   My Granddaughters  Isabel and Freya, will be the fifth generation of our family celebrating in Grampa’s Barn. We also will be celebrating the closing of my son Jeremy purchase of the house on the hill, (where we live and 26 acres of land and some of the lakeshore).  Cindy and I will be keeping the Red House, some lakeshore, and the 20 acres that the Ice Fishing is on.  We are building a new home off the lake on the far SE corner of our property on a five acre parcel I broke off years ago. So we will become “renters” until next spring when our house is ready to move in to.  So there is a lot to be thankful for  this year for us..  After all these years my dream is finally coming together.  Now I just have to live long enough to enjoy it for awhile.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I’ll post again after the weekend.

Tight Lines!
