Today the winds switched to the south and if you seen the Web Cam the ice moved to the north. There is still ice that I think will stay for about 1/3 of a mile out but the rest moved away. Now we have to wait thru this warm spell and see what happens as I figured.
Fortunately the water is ready to freeze, but until we get an prolonged “cold snap” it means existing ice will be moving around and when it happens we will be getting a strong NW wind that will bring it our way. Until that happens it’s anybody’s guess these days.
We are gearing up and changing some stuff from what I’ve seen over the last few years so we are better prepared for what happens. After being still in business for 70 years on the ice out there, I hope I had most of it figured out.. (we’ll see how that goes). 🙂
Keep a Tight Line!
