From what reports I heard, yesterday was a pretty quiet day. The barometer shot up over night and for most it was a tough bite.

I worked on establishing the road to what we call the East Bar,  Cleared two rough ice areas on the way out to it and will finish it today.  We will be pulling more houses for customers to get set for the weekend.

After checking the ice on the roads yesterday we will increase the combined vehicle weight, wheelhouse and truck to 12,000lbs. Single vehicles to 7000lbs. on roads that have been established.  Google your weight of vehicle and house and you’ll know. New roads will be restricted until they build more ice. You will need to find that out in the office when you arrive.

Since the 70’s we have had wheelhouse customers here. And in those days some were heavier than most are now. And alot of the time we ran on thinner ice than we do these days.  The big difference there were very few of them. Now there are many of them running the roads.  And that makes a difference. Our seasonal wheelhouse customers have increased 5 fold compared to then and when we open for weekend wheelhouses there will be another 50 added to that every weekend.  It’s not many compared to what some other resorts around the lake do, but quantity affects quality, and it doesn’t help the fishing for those out there in the middle of it. That’s why we do what we do.

Keep a Tight Line!       Eddy
