Merry Christmas everyone!

Was quiet out there today,  Some customers came in at noon and rented a house for a couple days, and I have another rented tomorrow am.  We’ll see how they do.

Got the roads cleaned up and plowed a few spots for houses today.  We are going to start to pull some of the people in the list starting Thursday. It is going to be a much slower process this year with have to clear areas for the houses out there.  I decided to do that instead of the way we used to just so they make thicker ice around the house, so don’t push me.

Fishermen have been calling inquiring about wheelhouses and trucks.  It’s not going to happen yet.  Not until I have better ice off the sides of the roads. I’ll let you know when.

Last night we got 3 inches of snow and more NW winds, but the roads had “floated” up so  most of it blew off, except for the edges.  I was able to get a few rentals out today, Then spent the rest of the day cleaning roads as much as I could getting ready for the next 1-3inches of snow on Christmas Eve.

I heard from the office that some people had called saying they had heard I went down out there………News to me!! I didn’t, am not going to…..done it too long to take a chance now.

We are going to start pulling those that  want to go, but it is going to be in in close.  Some  like that and some don’t.  My suggestion for those that want to be deeper reefs, just wait a bit.  Or if you want to go it will be in a place you haven’t been accustomed to.

With the snow we have and ice conditions I will do all I can, but for those that know me…. this one is going to be along way from what you have been used to  the last few..  it’s been a long time since it started like this.  Reminds me of the late 60’s, early 70’s out there.

Spent the day plowing and making more areas to put houses in close where the ice is ok.  We will not be going out to the deeper reefs for awhile and if this snow doesn’t stop hitting us every other day,  I don’t know when we’ll get there.

We are pulling rentals tomorrow for what I have rented and making spots for some of the private houses also. Talking to the DNR creel clerk tonite and telling him what I’ve got done so far he said we are doing better than most with roads and distance out into the main lake.  it is going to be a very different winter here this year on the ice,  I have change all the roads I have so far to be closer to the fishing areas and all the houses will be close to the roads.  That is something I haven’t done since the 70’s, but it is the only way to be out there this year.

No one out fishing today and I’m sure with Christmas coming there will be some quiet time. That will maybe give me some more time to get things ready out there.  Doesn’t look like we’ll have much of a Christmas here this year………
