Today we had fishermen out there looking.  They found them in the deeper water, which is a good sign. the problem is getting to the areas, establishing roads,  so we can get going. I do have roads out there that ATV’s and sleds can go on to get there, but there will definitely be no driving there yet.  the first 1/2 mile or so I have been out with one of the Ford’s plowing and will be letting smaller vehicles go in those  areas, but portables will still have to stay 100 feet of the roads.

We’ll get going better this next week providing we don’t get alot more snow, but we will not be getting house out to our deeper reefs for awhile yet.

Going to start pulling some houses over this weekend in areas where we have thicker ice. Gull Reef, Pope’s reefs.  There is just not enough ice to do anything out farther yet.

It still will be ATV-snowmobile over the weekend and after Christmas we will let smaller vehicles out,  1/2 ton or less.

Today some fishermen got into the Perch, but all were 9 inches or less, throwbacks in one of our rentals, but no Walleyes to report.  I’m thinking we have to get deeper, but ice conditions will not allow it yet.

I do have a road to the NW side of the Graveyard Reef and it would be nice to see some guys go out there and try it with portables this weekend.

Today I got one of the bigger trucks out and plowed the north-south road at Pope’s and widen the road going to it.  Pretty spooky……  It was some of the roughest ice I’ve plowed thru in quite a few years.  But I got it.  Still need to widen them some, but it’s a start.  Tomorrow I’m going to spend time on that.  I’m hoping that after tomorrow we will start pulling some of the smaller houses out for people and get this season started……..This afternoon I went out our roads to  the Graveyard and towards the Banana and there was evidence of more flooding, which is good.  If we don’t get more snow and it gets a chance to freeze, we will be able to go over the top of it.

Still no fishing report.  No one fishing except “tournament  pre-fishermen” and most aren’t out in our areas.

Still there will be no driving with vehicles, but we probably will let small SUV’s and light trucks under a 1/2 rating out in the next couple days.  Wheel houses will be able to go with ATV’s, but the problem is they can’t get off the road in most spots.  But with the flooded areas freezing over the next couple days,  That will enable that to happen too.

Keep a Tight Line!   We might make Christmas Week yet!!
