December 15th, 2019

Saturday we had about 50 groups of fishermen that went out.  The cold NW wind in the morning kept some of the “walkers” closer to the shore humps, instead of going out to Gull or  Popes.  But there were some pretty good catches by some in 10-12 ‘ of water next to 8-9’.  A father/son came and fished right out in front of where we have our campfire in the summer in 11″ feet of water and caught a 21″ plus keeper.

Those with snow machines went out farther and the northeast side of Pope’s seen some good action in the am.  All in all it was a pretty good fishing day for most.

In the afternoon I took out my 4-wheeler with plow and plowed along the edge of one of the roads we packed just to see how things were freezing.  I ran into water on the top of some areas where it was double layered, but did not break thru the top layer.  Today and tomorrow I will be checking the ice under where we packed and if ice depth permits, go out with the Land Cruiser and clean off the top layer of what we packed and actually have the start of roads.  We’ll see after I check ice depths today.  At least the next week or so does not have snow in the forecast…

Until something changes it will be snowmobile, ATV’s with track and walking.  Plenty of parking for rigs with trailers and wheelhouses in the field lot.

Keep a Tight Line!    Eddy
