February 22nd, 2020

Fishing reports overnight and to noon today were mixed.  It seemed that everyone caught some. a few rentals caught as many as 5 Walleye or more per house.  Today the weather is perfect out there for portabling or just fishing outside and many are.

Tomorrow permanents will be packing things up for the season and we will start pulling houses and putting them into storage until next season. Wheelhouse that have been stored here weekly will need to stop at office, settle up accounts and take them home or make arrangements for long term storage. We only have room for some as all the permanents will be coming into the storage lot starting Monday.

I will be keeping roads open until weather stops us for Tullibee and Perch fishing out in the “Tullibee Hole” and keep a couple Northern Pike areas open also.  There will be spots plowed for wheelhouses in both areas. And fees we have been charging for them this year will apply.   You will need to call ahead and reserve a “spot” so we had one ready for you.

Next season our new office, with bathrooms and showers will be up and running. Most of my customers have seen the long, slow and expensive progress I’ve been going thru restoring my Grandfather’s barn, (that he built over 100 years ago when they homesteaded this land) every time they have driven by it the last three years and will finally be ready. The downstairs portion will have modern bathrooms/showers, office, seating for up to 20 people, a kitchen area and counter for the ice fishing operation.  It will be quite a change from the old “Red house” office.  Except there will be alot of history on the walls as it will be our 68th year in ice fishing business.

Keep a Tight Line!     Eddy
