January 24th, 2019

This morning the NW wind started around 4:00 am, by daybreak it was strong and gusting to 30 mph with steady wind at 20 plus.  With the couple inches of fluff snow we did receive it’s been pretty much a whiteout since. It now about 10:00 am the sun is coming out and winds have dropped somewhat, and visibility has improved some.

My plan is to stay off the ice today except for turning up heat in rentals for tomorrow. After the winds drops tonight we will begin plowing Friday am and get driveways plowed etc. for those that have called and said they are coming up. Permanents, if you don’t call an give 24 hr notice driveways fees will be more expensive as always.

Wheelhouses:  It will be a little more difficult to move around now off the roads, but if you watch where you are going with 4wd you should manage.  Bringing a set of chains would be advised.  We will plow a spot for you,($20.00/spot) but only during daylight hours. We will not allow wheelhouse rigs with plows out our access.  (All that happens is that they plow a spot for themselves with no regard for others) and screw up and area for the rest of the season. I’ve seen it happen too many times….  All wheelhouses coming Friday for the weekend need to be here and out before dark, otherwise will need to wait until Saturday am. No exceptions.

The weather should stabilize and despite the cold the winds are going to drop so I think the bite will resume.  We moved  some more of our rentals on to the deep edges for this weekend and I’m  hoping it will pay off. I sill have some in shallower spots that have been consistent also.

Keep a Tight Line!    Eddy
