March 2nd, 2023

March 1st definitely cam in like a lion up here at least.  We received approx. 6″ of snow starting at daybreak and ending mid afternoon.  Followed by fairly strong NE winds.  This morning the wind is down and we are reopening the roads for the weekend anglers.

I will be opening things up to the Tullibee Hole and some deep water Perch spots.  Also there will be roads to the shallower Perch areas that did well last weekend and the Northern Pike areas we have gone to in the past. We will have spots for wheelhouses if needed also.  Just call ahead to let us know you are coming. Cindy will be answering the phone on the hill as we closed our new office during the week.  It will be open Friday and Saturday only.  The rest of the time fishermen will have to walk up to the house on the hill to pay access and receive a map of roads.

This week we set up a new V-plow and modified another to get ahead of things for next year for the addition of another 1 ton 4×4 .  Today it will be fun to try them out!

We will remain open until ice conditions warrant the closing of the access. I’m hoping the Perch continue to improve in the shallows like the showed signs of last weekend.  years ago March was the best time to fish for Perch in close and hopefully those times are coming again…
