Over the last few days, the lake’s ice has changed a lot.  There is now open water around the shallow reefs, Spider-Island in front of us, and the bays are opening up also. When the wind blows, it moves around.  I’m hoping we won’t see any significant winds for a while, as the ice is still pretty thick and could do some shoreline damage if we get some.

We are now dropping below freezing at night and hitting the 40s during the day, so what is out there will probably stay for a while.

I will post the next time when we see open water.  It’s been quite the year this year, and let’s all hope for a better one next winter..
