Last night we received our first real snow. We ended up with 6 inches or so and a lot of wind was with it. This morning the ice was out in front about 200 yards and now it is out approximately 3/4 of a mile. with the wind from the north-northwest it’s forming in our direction. We were very fortunate not to had ice out a long ways with the snow we had. What ice we did have in close stayed really clean of snow and will be good. The weather forecast for Friday-Sunday includes another storm with winds starting from the Southeast and ending up Northwest so who knows what ice will stay, or go and come back. Temperatures are staying average, (which is too warm to make good ice in my opinion), so we will see how it goes…
Yesterday I had cataract surgery on my right eye, (left eye was in July). So the next few days I have to lay low so it heals well. It’s amazing what they can do these days with that compared to what is was 20 years ago. Today driving up to Brainerd from here for the first “after surgery appt” was a thrill with the roads the way they were, but it all turned out good.
Sorry it was over a week since the last post. But they will be more frequent as the ice progresses … 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
