December 8th, 2018

Yesterday when the sun came out around midday the ice heated up and moved some. A few minor cracks appeared, and from what I could see with the spotting scope out 2 miles or so the main lake sheet shifted also.  But we are not going that far for awhile yet.

The bite was slow for most with alot of small Perch and small Walleyes caught.  One angler kept 12 nice sized Perch, another angler caught a 22″Walleye at dusk, and some in the 17 to 20 ” range were caught and released.

We are going to stay on the cautious side of things this weekend and until the main lake heals up and quits moving.  We will be requesting that all anglers leave their cell number with us when checking in to go out. Small ATV’s only, Small single axle wheelhouses, (under 12 feet) pulled by ATV, and they will only be in limited areas.  There will be no going out on the ice after dark. (Last evening at 8:00 p,m. some anglers showed up and wanted to go out with their wheelhouse and ATV.  To clarify if anglers don’t know , we will not anyone out after dark when they can’t see where they are going this time of year.

Keep a Tight Line!
