I made this report early so more would get a chance to read it. Overnight last evening the reports of the bite were mixed.  Some did very well and others bombed. But over all it was a slower evening.

We had a crack this morning our road to the Gravel just before the turn north on the Tundra that opened up about 8-10″ but the rest was good. We patched it and put ramps over it and by afternoon it was froze solid.  So plans are back on to let trucks and wheelhouses out to the Gravel starting tomorrow for the weekend after we check the roads. 1 ton rated trucks and with tandem houses will have to stay east of the pressure ridge, which will mean no going to the gravel bars… The weather is stabilizing somewhat so the ice should stay pretty good with enough cold at night to heal things.

Unfortunately a neighboring resort to the west plowed into the end of our gravel bar road on a small bar that I’ve plowed to for 30 some years.  The bar has enough room for maybe 5-8 houses on it and now it will be junk as their customers will be driving by it non-stop.  All over in other spots there are wheelhouse parked in every which direction with no one parked by them. That far out it is just asking for someone to break into them. Plus it will be a big mess when after a storm when they try to get them off. Especially when they are off the roads we maintain for our customers. It’s too bad that the owner has no respect for others or the areas they have been for so long.  Especially when they have all sorts of room to fish in their area that has been there for years.  Fishermen using other roads to get off the lake, and not knowing who is going  out of our private access. traveling ice roads too fast….  It just opens the door for trouble for everyone.  Maybe they’ll figure it out before there is… I realize it’s a public lake, and anyone can do what they want but I’m sure if the tables were turned it would be different.

Keep a Tight Line!    Eddy
