January 19th. 2019

Last evening as reports came in it was evident that the cold front and rising barometer slowed the bite for most. Some on the deep water transitions had activity and some of the rock to sand areas had a pretty good day bite, but overall I would say it was slower than it had been by far.  As the high settles in over the weekend the bite should improve, especially at night as the full moon is approaching.

The colder weather definitely is a change and after last weekend’s almost warm weather there was not as much wheelhouse activity out there compared to last Friday. And i’m presuming portable traffic might be down some also as it is -15 degrees as I write this.  Our rentals are full for thru Sunday.  There is a few open for MLK Day if you want to come up for the day.

I opened up roads to the Bowl, the Knobs, and I am working on finishing access to the Banana Reef today.  I’m hoping to move some houses out on it after the snow Tuesday.  The ice out there is averaging only 14 inches thick in that area where it stayed open much later than the rest of the ice around it.   Most ice depths elsewhere are  20″ plus.  The road to the Tundra and Gravel is in good shape. So we should be good to go for the weekend..

Keep a Tight Line!
