Yesterday’s fishermen reported good catches in the rentals, Still mainly and late afternoon and overnite bite.  More Perch are showing up in the catch also.   And where there is Perch there will be Walleye…. Walleye were caught in anywhere from 12 feet to as deep a 32.  Currently we are out to the Tundra, Graveyard, Popes, Ray’s and East Spider.  The Banana Reef and Bowl are not accessible as there is areas there yet with only 11-14 inches of ice and a pressure ridge running thru the middle of it.  We are crossing the pressure ridge between Spider Island and shore and getting to the Tundra by going west and then North,

This warm weather, (so far), is not affecting the ice, but we still have two days of above freezing temps before they start staying below. We are trying to keep the ice covered around the houses with snow so there is not so much melting and refraining from plowing driveways unless needed. A few got plowed by mistake yesterday so we’ll see how they look when the sun hits them today.

Wheelhouses pulled with 1/2 ton rated trucks will be let out of our access over this weekend, No 3/4 or 1 tons with wheelhouses,  It would be a good idea to have tire chains with as we are not plowing spots for wheelhouses. With this warm weather and smooth ice is you spin down you will be stuck. Also any rigs going out from here will have to be on the ice before dark.  We will NOT let them out after that, so don’t try.   Also private house owners that are coming for the first time this year must be here before dark also.  Every year things vary a little and I insist that everyone knows where they are going and daylight makes it easier and SAFER.

The signup sheet for the Lybacks/TWP Tournament on Feb 23rd, will be in the office starting today.  Lots of good door prizes this year…   🙂

Keep a Tight Line!     Eddy
